My researches focus on the ecology, evolution and control of parasite transmission. I design theoretical approaches that combine dynamic systems analysis, model fitting and selection to describe, understand and predict the eco-evolutionary dynamics of various parasites, as well as to assess putative control strategies. These integrative approaches have originally developed in the context of human parasitic diseases (American trypanosomiasis, Schistosomiasis, West Nile Virus), in partnership with the World Health Organization and the International Development Research Centre. I am now seeking to complement these approaches by developing 'Eco-genomic' theories that integrate representations of the molecular processes involved in genome dynamics and expression, in order to understand their roles in the evolution of interactions between host plants, parasites and their abiotic environments.
